Environmental leaders in action and protection

LEAP: Cultivating tomorrow’s green leaders

The Leaders in Environmental Action Protection program aims to support and inspire the next generation of green leaders to ensure a prosperous community for tomorrow. By launching their own eco-projects across the West Island, the L.E.A.P. program will offer students the chance to take advantage of brand-new educational resources, project development and financial support.

With the help of valuable partners such as the RBC Foundation and GM Canada, the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de l'Ouest-de-l'Île will offer in-class workshops and a dedicated online platform aimed at helping students make a living their projects. As part of this project, we will also offer micro-grants, of up to $1,000, for projects led by young people in need of financial assistance.

WHAT DO THEY SAY?

“The program represents an opportunity for young people to take part in a project taking place in their community and giving them the means to make a difference in their living environments. »

- Tania Charon, Executive Director of West Island Youth Action

The LEAP would be a fantastic asset to the community and an incredible help to our school! »
- Diane Blackburn, MacDonald Highschool Teacher / Mac Nature Club Leader
