Presentation

The “Jeunes en Action” program is an opportunity given to youths aged 18 to 24 who are admissible to receive social assistance or  social solidarité; who are participants of Alternative jeunesse; who receive employment insurance or  do not receive public income support.

This program offers youths the opportunity to develop their full potential. This measure is designed to support youth in their efforts to enter the labour market, to return to school or the possibility to have training by meeting their employment needs and aspirations through personalized coaching. This is done with the help of the local employment centre, the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi and organizations specialized in helping youths.

The program, is divided into two phases, and it offers youths the possibility to progress.

An intervention phase with the help of a counsellor:

    Defining and evaluating their needs;
    Set goals and find ways to achieve them;
    Determining the required activities;
    Assessing strengths and weaknesses;
    Making decisions;
    Solving personal problems;
    Etc…

A support phase

Once the youth has achieved their goal, they are supported by a councellor.  The are supported and coached every step of the way whether in professional, social or educational reinsertion.
The counsellor remains supportive even after the youth has achieved their goals

Advantages of the program

By participating in the program “Jeunes en Action”, youths can achieve their goals with the help of an intervention that takes into consideration their needs and their reality. The intervention takes place at the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi or other youth organizations where needed. Participation is voluntary and admission to the program can result in supplementary financial help.
